First Run In with The LAW

I have no photo evidence of the following event but still the need to document the occurrence.

Today was the second day of school in Queens county where I work. A trip that take 2 trains and about 1.25 hours depending on the train schedules. The day started with the promise of a slow and peaceful day. The boys woke up and Eric brought them down stairs. I got ready for work and kissed the boys goodbye. I got on my usual 7:55am train. The schedule was as expected slow. All kids pretty much go to school the first few days. I like to soak this in as usually we see 70-100 patients in the schedule daily. While sometimes the day can feel so long when it's slow somehow the back to school days are great.

After finishing up with a patient, I saw I had missed a call from Eric. It was 10:23am, which is a weird time for him to call. I called back immediately.  The conversation started with "everything is okay now".......you know this is the worst way to start a convo! It continued "I was pulled out of a lesson by JD who informed me the cops were at our house. The boys locked Minda out." I giggled immediately.  I know that's not the proper response but the issue was over and done with and at this point what do you do besides laugh.

Not only did our precious 16 month old twins shut the locked door on the nanny who was outside without keys, or a phone, or our phone numbers memorized, or even knowledge of where Eric works but some how they managed to get the deadbolt locked as well. They then sat in the window laughing at the cop and the nanny.

Thankfully the neighbors called 911 for Minda! But there was no need to break in as the boys spent the entire time in front of the window where they could see they were safe. The police proceeded to call all local golf courses and search for Eric. Thankfully he works 5 minutes away from home!

After rescuing the boys he returned to work and I then was informed of the situation.  Somehow I feel this is not the only time the cops will be called on the boys 🤣
